Local Beach Guide

Within 8-15 minutes of the Cliff House Hotel are some amazing beaches. Here's everything you need to know to have a great day. Check the tide chart first!

Ogunquit Beach

This is my top recommendation--- it has waves, sand bars, and a river that is protected from the waves with nearby lunch options. However at high tide there is very little sand left. There is a large (paid) parking lot, but it fills up quickly, especially on the weekends, so this can be a big challenge. However the hotel offers a trolley that can drop you off-- inquire with the concierge. Roughly 10 minutes travel time, sometimes more with traffic.

Long Sands Beach

Another very popular beach that is long and flat with a few lunch options. At high tide there is very little sand left. Street parking is tough but there are two houses that offers backyard parking towards the north end of the beach for $30. It is a 13-min drive.

Cape Neddick Beach

This is a very pretty spot that is more of a local beach. There are no waves, but there are some rock features and a marsh that are good for finding sea life. Across from the camp ground is paid parking, typically for $20. It's an 8-min drive. There is no bath house here and the only lunch option is the Lobster Pound restaurant.
